Maestro

Bowen really has outdone himself this time – and I don’t even have my PH yet!  But my favorite thing about statues are the little things that tell a story – for instance, the Marvel Milestones Hulk statue has a base that shows off a huge robotic hand – that to me is just bad-ass – I don’t know about you, but my mind begins to swim with scenarios that showcase the Hulk destroying the enormous robot.  This is one of those statues – and mainly because of the base! 

I will get into the statue itself in a minute, but let’s get this out of the way, shall we?  Here is a list of the many relics found on Maestro’s base:

This statue is out of control!  Rahas also said that noteverything has significance – so don’t go crazy if you can’t figure it out!  But I think a perfect mini-series would be how the Hulk finally went nuts and killed all these heroes and became the Maestro – how come this story has not been done yet?  I’m sure PD has it in the back of his mind somewhere… they could highlight how Rick and Bruce became enemies and I would love to see how the Hulk took down some of the heroes!

That Mary Jane

Spider-Man is one lucky guy.

His girlfriend Mary Jane does his laundry, has a lot of cleavage and wears a cute little pink thong that sticks out of her jeans. At least that's the image one comic-book illustrator portrays in a new collectable statue that has the comic blogosphere up in arms.

Sideshow Collectibles' Mary Jane Comiquette is more than 14 inches of buxom Mary Jane. But the sight of Spidey's gal spilling out of her clothes over a load of super wash has some calling the $125 collectable a sexist piece of trash.

"The statue represents a big step backwards for those concerned about the state and future of comic books," said blogger Sleestak, under a May 11 posting titled "Mary Jane, the Other White Meat."

Illustrator Adam Hughes created the limited edition statue, described as "Mary Jane discover[ing] that her superhero husband has slipped some of his laundry into the mix, but she's not looking too displeased about Peter's naughty little transgression."

The release of this statue coincides with the reprinting of the story in two hardcover editions. Sculpted by Jack Mathews, this hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain statue includes a logo base, measures about 9 1/4-inhces tall x 9 3/4-inches wide x 6 1/2-inches long, and is packaged in a 4-color box with a 4-color certificate of authenticity. Ironman

Fans of Ironman, here is something cool for you to stuffed into your magnetic-friendly superhero cabinet. It’s an Ironman helmet statue, the helmet measures in 9-inch tall x 8-inch wide x 13-inch long which mean it has the same size of the real one weared by the actor in the film. The producer made it a limited edition (1500 pieces only) and you can get it for $355.
